The Current Climate Situation


Our company, Phoenix United, realizes the potential threat of global warming and has decided to join the global campaign “Business Ambition for 1.5°C” by the Exponential Roadmap Initiative. This campaign calls for businesses to reduce gas emissions in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement, a legally binding treaty on climate change, helping nations, organizations and enterprises align in the effort to limit global warming to 1.5°C (versus pre-industrial levels). To accomplish this goal, global gas emissions need to be halved every decade and reach net-zero by 2050. 


According to the Business Ambition 1.5°C campaign, there are four (4) ways to make a contribution in decreasing gas emissions in the atmosphere: first, to reduce emissions produced by the company itself; second, to influence a value chain wide transformation—i.e., convince suppliers to decrease their gas emissions; third, to change the company strategy, value proposition, products and services in alignment with the 1.5°C ambition; fourth, to actively make the emission problem public and support wider industry initiatives. 


We believe that it is in the best interest of global companies to adapt to the changing requirements of sustainability, responsibility and ecological accountability. By adapting new standards, we contribute to our future success, the success of our industry and the long-term prosperity of all. 


What We are Doing


Phoenix United has selected two (2) main strategies based on the Business Ambition 1.5°C campaign’s recommendations. More than a telecommunications services company, we are also actively involved in providing green energy to our clients and customers, thereby expanding what it means to be in telecom in the 21st century. These additions to our green energy strategy and company operations reflect our values and commitment to being one with the business community in fighting climate change.

1.Reducing Emissions Produced by the Company  


One of the ways we can substantially contribute to the campaign is by altering our transport operations and transitioning to greener vehicles and equipment. Our company plans to cut our total carbon emissions by totally replacing our fuel trucks with electrical ones by 2030. By that time, the company also expects that all its trucks will be charged by its own electrical stations powered by renewable energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines. Thus, by 2030 we are going to achieve eighty percent (80%) energy savings in our logistics.


Phoenix United is currently paying attention to the timely replacement of old trucks with new models (2020), which produce less emissions because of their more modern protection equipment. Also, our trucks are operated only with the use of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). DEF is consumed in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) that lowers the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the diesel exhaust emissions from a diesel engine, thereby contributing to the cutting of air pollution and the greenhouse effect.  


2. Changing a Company Strategy


Starting 2022, our company is going to be an active player in the Green Energy industry by going into the installation of wind turbines and solar panels. This initiative will support the development of the electric car industry and help reduce the use of gas or diesel cars. This new company product strategy will further contribute to reducing the emissions of harmful gas in the air.


This strategy further augments our current solar panel and wind turbine installation services. We intend to scale our green energy operations even further, extending to non-telecom applications, ensuring the widest possible client base while benefiting the environment.


Becoming a Leader in Telecom and Green Energy


We hope to integrate climate-friendly solutions through concrete strategies that not only improve our ecological contributions but optimize our operations, respond to consumer demand, and thus make better business sense in the long run.


As the markets for clean energy systems expand, we are also ensuring our future as an industry leader by offering more resilient and resource-efficient solutions that make us more sustainable and competitive. Eventually, such strategies will form part of our vision to become a global market leader. They position us to meet the new wave of demand coming from various industries and clients, taking advantage of the new transformational wave that will shape business now and in the future.
